Not sure how many people have heard this. It’s one of my favourite guest spots I did eons ago for a group called Positive Flow ft Donna Gardier. The producer asked me to deliver the verse in a spoken word style and not a rap. The lyrics were inspired by a performance I once did in one of the London Eye pods (iPod, hmm wordplay alert). Just being in the clouds and above the mayhem of London below was brilliant. It matched the theme of the song so I just flowed from there.
50,000 feet and rising
Experiencing life from higher ground is definitely the way to go. You get a clearer perspective on things and there’s more space to think. It’s so important to create head space, that’s when you become a better problem solver. But how do you de-clutter the mind; the busiest and largest data storage system in the galaxy? One way is to look at the bigger picture, put things into perspective of what’s going on around you. Another way is to walk away from the madness for a few hours or even a day or two, do something fun and forget about it. Come back with a fresh attitude and deal with it much better than you would have (I got that nugget from my dad). Immerse yourself in prayer or helping someone else. And the last one for me is tidying up my room; that works wonders. It’s as if the state of my room and the state of my mind are linked, don’t ask me how. Must have something to do with you becoming what you keep seeing.Enjoy the song and do me a favour, post it on your Facebook wall or retweet it or email it to someone who hasn’t heard of BREIS before. Love you all and keep rising. Might see some of you marching for justice this Saturday April 16 2011 at 12 noon at the Southbank all the way to Scotland yard. For all those that have mysteriously died in police custody.
